Maintenance mode and coming soon
Close your whole site while you work on it, or show a coming soon page before launch — the modes, what Google sees, your own page, and the preview link.

Settings → Site status (/admin/settings/site-status) closes your whole public site to visitors with one switch, while you and your team keep seeing the real site. Super Admin and Admin only; every plan, including the trial.
The three modes
| Mode | Use it when | Visitors see | Google sees |
|---|---|---|---|
| Live | Normally | Your site | Your site |
| Maintenance | You are redesigning, switching theme, importing content, or must take the site down quickly (a wrong price, a legal request) | The maintenance page | A temporary closure (HTTP 503), so your rankings stay |
| Coming soon | The site has not launched yet | The coming soon page | A page it must not index (noindex), and a robots.txt that disallows everything |
Choose a mode, press Save, and confirm. The change reaches every visitor within 1–2 minutes, not instantly.
Maintenance or coming soon?
- A site already on Google: use Maintenance. Google reads a 503 as “back soon” and keeps your pages for a closure of hours or a few days; many days in a row can start to cost rankings.
- Coming soon only for a site that was never public: on a live site its
noindexremoves your pages from search results. The settings page warns you when your site has its own domain.
The page visitors see
Under Page shown to visitors you choose one page per mode.
- Standard page (the default): a plain black-and-white page with a short heading and one line in Thai or English, plus the time the site is expected back. Nothing to design, and the safest choice while you rework your theme, because it does not depend on it.
- One of your own pages: shown exactly as it looks on your site, designed in the HTML Builder like any page. A Draft page is the usual choice — hidden while the site is live. A published page can also be opened at its own address while the site is live; the settings page says so.
Start from a starter
Press Create from a starter under a mode. SeedWebs creates a new Draft page for it and selects it:
- Maintenance: a heading and one line, in black and white.
- Coming soon: the same, plus an email sign-up box. The box appears only while Newsletters is switched on in the Admin Menu.
It uses the Landing template (no theme header or footer) and your theme’s font. Add your logo, a picture or more text in the HTML Builder, then press Save on the Site status page. If you already made one from the same starter, you are asked whether to use it or create another.
Preview opens the chosen page as visitors see it; Edit page opens the editor. Edits show on the page’s next load — no need to save Site status again.
Pages that cannot be used
- The home page (slug
home) — that is the page visitors would otherwise see. - A page at an address the platform uses for something else, such as
/searchor/posts. These are greyed out in the list.
If the chosen page is later deleted or trashed, the site stays closed and visitors see the standard page; the Site status page and the admin’s yellow bar say so. In Pages the page in use is marked Maintenance page or Coming soon page, and moving it to the Trash warns you first.
What stays open while the site is closed
The admin panel, your media files, the order and booking status pages (/orders/…, /tours/bookings/…), and everything sent through the site’s API — forms, newsletter sign-ups, checkout and payment notifications — so the sign-up box on a coming soon page works. Every other address shows the closed page.
Who still sees the real site
- Anyone signed in to this site’s admin (any role) on its
.seedwebs.appaddress, with a bar reminding them the site is closed. - Anyone who opens the preview link (Preview link → Copy) — for 7 days in that browser, with the same bar. Send it to a client or your boss.
On your own domain (like yourbrand.com) the admin sign-in does not count, because it belongs to the .seedwebs.app address — use the preview link there. Create a new link cuts off everyone holding the old one within 1–2 minutes. The link shows the public site only, never the admin panel.
Reopen or launch automatically
Fill in Reopen automatically at (Launch automatically at for Coming soon), in your computer’s time zone, and the site goes live by itself then. The standard page shows that time to visitors; on your own page, type it in yourself. Leave it empty to reopen by choosing Live and saving.
If you forget it is on
While the site is closed, every admin page shows a yellow bar with a Manage link. If you cannot reach the admin, the SeedWebs team can reopen the site for you.
